MISSION STATEMENT: 

The mission of Ballet for the World Initiative (BFTWI) is to offer ballet, creative dance, and fine arts classes to people in Guatemala and the United States who cannot afford tuition for extracurricular programs. Through volunteer and local population support, we dedicate ourselves to providing a safe space for children and adults to promote their artistic development.

WHERE IS THE BALLET FOR THE WORLD INITIATIVE HAPPENING? 

Currently, the program is Hope Place in Daytona Beach, Florida, an emergency shelter for families who have been displaced from their homes.

WHERE DID THE BALLET FOR THE WORLD INITIATIVE ORIGINATE?

Ballet for the World Initiative was created due to the need to provide access to classical dance studies in rural Guatemala. The only opportunities in the country are still concentrated in the metropolitan area of the capital city, with a high cost for Guatemalans with an average salary. BFTWI understands the difficulties in finding places to practice the Fine Arts, and her experience as a ballet dancer made her commitment to diminish disparities and injustices in acquiring opportunities and education even more substantial.
